Grab your dancing shoes and get down to see pop legend Sir David Essex playing Blackpool on November 17, 2012. Catch the show at The Opera House, near to many fine Blackpool Hotels where you can stay, right in the centre of all the action including the Golden Mile. Essex blasted to the top of the charts in the early 70s with hits like “Rock On”, “Stardust”, “Hold Me Close”, Gonna Make You a Star” and many more. The crowd that attends a David Essex gig tend to get up and start dancing after the first few tracks, as Essex performs with loads of energy fitting for a star who is health conscious and very fit! He has some incredibly loyal fans too and if you ask around you might meet some people who have been to every gig on the tour. Eastenders Fame Sir David recently played Eddie Moon, Alfie Moon’s dad, in a spell with Eastenders in 2011. After this five month stint he decided to use the TV cash to return to music, his first love, and organise a brand new tour for 2012. What is wonderful about going to a David Essex concert is that you will hear all the greatest hits alongside some excellent cover versions. He usually plays “Rock On” towards the end which brings the house down and creates the same eerie rock anthem atmosphere as when it was first in the charts in 1973. Essex is no stranger to the West End, having appeared in several musical theatre blockbusters including “Footloose”, “Boogie Nights 2”, “Tommy”, “Evita” and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Aspects of Love”. He is also well known for adding his own touch and vocals to other artist’s albums including lending some of the awesome vibes to the concept album “War of the Worlds”. Accomplished stage performances, smooth guitar playing and dancing moves make a David Essex gig full of energy and drama. Whether you are six or sixty you will have a great evening seeing this legend perform. Afterwards or before you can take in all the sights Blackpool has to offer, including the piers, fun fairs, Blackpool Tower, or dine at one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Enjoy your visit to Blackpool to see David Essex in concert and make sure you get your tickets early!
