Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom hosts Ed Sheeran on Thursday November 8th 2012. This is sure to be an amazing performance by one of the UK’s hottest young musical artists. Tickets are selling like hotcakes so make sure you book into one of Blackpool’s hotels and get yourself organised now! For those unfamiliar with this hot new musical talent, it may surprise you to learn that Ed is a star find originally from Halifax and now resident in the tiny village of Framlingham, Suffolk. He is still able to pop to the shops for a pint of milk despite his super stardom, preferring to keep things ‘real’. Diamond Jubilee Crooner Ed Sheeran became a household name when he performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace in June 2012. He performed his number one hit that “A team”, about a girl who has little chance of success in life due to drug addiction and the never ending cycle of it. Many who hear Ed’s music are moved by his choices of topic, and his deeply poetic style. Combined with a mastery of guitar and a haunting vocal range, and there’s a real star packed punch within this 21 year old performer. Ed knew from a young age he loved music, and began writing songs while at Framlingham High School, and making his first EP; The Orange Room; at age 14. He went on to release two albums, Ed Sheeran (2006) and Want Some? (2007). Sheer hard work, love of music and most importantly, the production of it finally paid off for Ed who managed to achieve 312 tour dates in 2009. At the age of 19 this rising star had real tour experience under his belt. Ed is a role model for young people who want to do well in music, proving that if you have the talent you should work hard and go for it.  On a hunch, Ed departed the UK in 2010 with nothing but a phone number of a friend in Los Angeles and a desire to make the big time. He was straight into the open mic circuit and was spotted by Hollywood Star and music producer Jamie Foxx. Using Foxx’s home recording studio Ed continued to record independently and made another album called No5 Collaborations Project with some heavy hitters from the LA music scene. He hit mainstream with a number 2 US album debut listing and went on to smash the charts with “A Team”. Enjoy your evening with Ed Sheeran in Blackpool on November  8, 2012.
