Fylde Coast Food and Drink Weekend

For the first time ever, Fleetwood in Blackpool hosts the Fylde Coast Food and Drink weekend on Sunday 18 August between 2 and 4pm. The Carn Brae Hotel in Blackpool is pleased to announce this incredible value family event. Billed as a ‘must for all food and drink lovers’, the festival features a selection of home-grown produce from the surrounding Lancashire region. The best local food and drink producers will be selling their wares, offering free tastings and samples, and joining in the celebration of excellence in British produce in the North of England. Marine Hall Fleetwood hosts Food and Drink Weekend Festival The beautifully renovated grounds of Marine Hall host the weekend festival, with outdoors fun, food, drink, and entertainment for all the family. One of the best value events in town this weekend, entry is only £1 for adults and 50p for children. Local exhibitors Delight Fleetwood in Blackpool The Elephant and Camel Café, specialising in fair-trade vegetarian food, vegan and gluten-free specialities, are busy baking for the event. Specialist caterer, Twelve Restaurant, plans to do cooking demonstrations throughout the day, including a delicious starter of scallops and pork belly, and a main course of Goosnargh duck breast. Pudding includes the iconic rice pudding, with a twist including poached ginger peaches and foam. The Nepalese and Indian community will be represented by Fleetwood’s Gurka Legends Restaruant and Additions Café bar. Island Foods is selling exotic sauces, samosas and spicy treats. Real Thai Pie are offering traditional family Thai food baking, which is a delightful offering from this husband and wife team. Other culinary treats on offer include Preesall’s pie baking phenomenon, Shirley’s Pies. The home baking company Pampered Chef have tips, recipes, and cooking items on sale. A Slice of Cake have edible glitter, sugar pastes, and a variety of sprinkles for cake decorating, with live demonstrations to delight all the family. Meats and local black pudding from Shaw Meats will be on sale too, satisfying those who love home-reared salamis, sausages, and cured meats from the North West. Prosecco and wine producers Pieroth are offering glasses of Sekt or Prosecco to taste and enjoy. International flavours in the Fylde Coast Food and Drink Weekend include the Paris based Food Company who bring crepes, patisserie treats and French bakery delights to the table. Pouton’s Cheescakes are on sale alongside Chocolate Magic, who’ve experienced phenomenal success around the UK with their excellent chocolate combinations. Children’s entertainer, Britain’s Got Talent star Thomas Bounce, takes the stage for younger visitors, offering feats of juggling, and free circus workshops throughout the day.
