When it comes to wax statues, everyone on planet Earth will no doubt think of the internationally acclaimed Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. Well known for showcasing extremely life-like statues of icons past and present, the Madame Tussaud’s wax museum is truly an amazing venue to visit. However, how many people actually know that there is another amazing wax museum located right at the heart of Blackpool? Most visitors to Blackpool will have heard about the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks. In fact, tourists frequently make it a point to visit this incredible attraction as part of their trip to Blackpool. In all honesty, the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks is not inferior compared to the world’s most famous wax museum. In fact, Louis Tussaud was none other than the great grandson of the famous Madame Tussaud! Any visitor who sees the work done by Louis Tussaud will surely agree that he managed to replicate the impeccable standards set by his famous ancestor. Ranging from pop stars to sports icons to television and movie personalities, the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks is truly a place for you to get up close and personal with all your favorite idols from around the world. Spend some time, admire the work, take some pictures and keep these memories for years to come. Unfortunately though, the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks is currently closed and will not be accepting any new visitors. However, this is only temporary due to it being bought over by the Blackpool Council. The museum will be opening its doors again to the public in March 2011 but it will do so under the name of Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. Fans of the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks should not be too disappointed though, as the soon-to-be revamped attraction promises to retain the same quality and magic that the original had. The location of the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks will also be kept the same even after the reopening. It will still be situated merely 10 minutes from the popular town centre at North Pier and within walking distance from the North Pier Train Station. Tourists will also be interested in other attractions near the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks such as the Sea Life Centre, Dr Who Exhibition and the glorious stretch of beach nearby. Whether you want to take a picture together with your favorite stars or simply admire the amazing artwork that is housed in the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks, make it a point to stop by if you ever visit Blackpool.
