Lytham near Blackpool comes alive for the Lytham Proms Festival Weekend on August 2-4, 2013. Three days of dancing, music and good old fashioned festival fun awaits those who like a chilled out vibe and a relaxed atmosphere. Friday night sees a well known group of 80s musicians line up for an evening of pop retro fun. Acts booked to play include Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet Fame, Jason Donovan, Heaven 17, Marc Almond of Dragon, Sonia, Altered Images and Odyssey. With Lytham only minutes away from Hotels in Blackpool, take advantage of some close by accommodation with the delights of the Festival nearby, and some comfy beds at night! Classic Saturday Night with Stellar Singers After the 80's strike back on Friday,  Saturday night’s ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert will delight fans of Russell Watson and special guests Jonathan & Charlotte,  who were very talented runners up on Britain’s Got Talent. Sunday night headliner Rita Ora is a sure fire hit with all ages, and other acts before her include Connor Maynard and Stooshe, who are supported by Manchester boy band Reconnected who also found fame on Britain's Got Talent. After supporting Little Mix on their tour last year, Reconnected are now working on their first album with acclaimed producer Tim Woodcock. Fresh British Talent at the Lytham Proms Festival The Lytham Proms Festival Weekend supports a bevy of up and coming talent including 17-year-old You-Tube Elyar Fox, from London. Compared to Justin Bieber in the looks department, this singer/guitarist has already attracted a major following. Elyar released his breakthrough single ‘Colour-blind’ earlier this year and is currently working on his first album. Home grown talent includes Essex-born singer-songwriter Ed Drewett and south London singer, songwriter and producer Charlie Brown proving that the British music industry still has the momentum to bring new talent forward through the support of live music festivals such as Lytham Proms. This festival director by Peter Taylor has grown from strength to strength and become a must-do summer event on the Blackpool Calendar. The festival is also participating in the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign promoting the motto to "Love where you live".
