Winter Gardens Trust Christmas Tree Festival

This year, for the first time, the Blackpool Winter Gardens Trust is hosting an early Christmas celebration event. To raise money for the necessary repairs and maintenance of the Blackpool Winter Gardens Complex, the trust is holding a Christmas Tree Festival for November 22nd and 23rd. If you'd like to enter into the spirit of the festival you can pay £1 entrance fee and take a look around at all the different Christmas trees on show. The special thing about this event is that it is a competition as to who can decorate their tree the nicest, and the trees can be real, artificial or handmade! There’s hot food and drinks for sale, and a real Christmas atmosphere expected with live music playing throughout the day. This is sure to be a great day out for all the family, and an excellent way to get in the mood for Christmas holiday celebrations. The general public are in charge of voting for the winner of the best decorated Christmas tree.  Sure to be a very competitive event, the Christmas Tree Festival is likely to bring out the more artistic Blackpool locals, keen to show off their skills. The lucky entrant chosen for the win will be presented with a prize at the end of the weekend. Many entrants will be professional Christmas tree sellers (of real or handmade varieties), so it is also a good chance to pop along and order your families tree of choice. As a special treat, Santa and his reindeer will be making an appearance on both Saturday and Sunday November 22nd and 23rd.  There will be entertainment in Santa’s grotto and sing-a-long carols for everyone present. The Christmas Tree Festival is to be held in the Derham Lounge directly opposite the Illuminasia concert location. All proceeds from the entrance fees, and the competitor net fees go towards vital maintenances of the beautiful Winter Gardens complex, with its Victorian architecture and Grade I listed status.
